Refurbishing

Recently I have found a new love for up-cycling furniture.
Recycling is the way forward and I do believe more people need to jump on this band wagon, its all about Re-use and Re-create!

I am now using my new found love and creating one off - shabbychic/ vintage furniture. Which will be soon sold at a vintage store in Stratford Upon Avon - Humbug Vintage.  This is a gorgeous store with some beautiful vintage clothes.  By adding things such as concessions, songs and bands of the week, (which they advertise inside), this really makes it a one off and personal shop.

A section of recent print designs based upon Renaissance

Here are a few of my digital designs from my most recent project, enjoy!

This design I created for tiles, using a flatbed print I have been able to create a range of tiles, using my renaissance theme.

These next two designs are for both fabric & wallpaper, I created them using my renaissance sketches & paintings on architecture, flowers and women.

Recycling & Printing A Chair

So with my project, I felt like I was slipping away from the idea of re-use and recycling, and focussing mainly on the theme of the print.  To link it all back together I have been restoring some old chairs that I brought from a recycling centre, in which I got two solid wood chairs for £6! BARGIN! So remembering that my theme is still Oriental Patterns, here is my first look into recycling, restoring and printing. Hope you like!

The state of the chairs when I brought them - they even had mould growing on them!

After the sanding and with the base coat.

Painting it an egg shell blue - glossy.

With the hand made stencil on, the idea for the stencil came from studying turkish tiles.

Taking the stencil off and outlining it in gold for the oriental feel.

Looking at peacock feathers.

And the finished product (for now, I might add some more down the line)...
